Graduating from Manchester School of Art with a BA in Three Dimensional Design and winner of the 2011 Royal Exchange Craft Award, Nousheen was invited to take part in the first ever In:Site event, when it was just a graduate day.
Winner of the first Jane Philips Award in 2011 from the Mission Gallery in Swansea, Laura Edmunds graduated from Swansea Metropolitan University with a BA(hons) in Surface Pattern Design for Contemporary Applied Arts.
Laura draws on her experiences and from bodily traces. She is fascinated with how someone can be so physical, fleshy and heavy and then in a moment, they’re gone.
For her intervention Laura used the trees and the wind to draw for her (using a pencil on string) and other mark-making techniques to create large scale abstract drawings that reflected the environment.
